Thoughts:
At first glance, you may think that the female lead is omnipotent but it is not the case. She does constantly get into precarious situations and she has to rely on her wits to survive. Although the “lie detector” helped her at the start, the story quickly foreshadows that it would not accompany all the way. There were a few love interests but it was quite obvious who the male lead is. This story is adapted from real historical events and in despite the urge to change history, the female lead was quite stubborn in keeping to history. If you know about Yang Jian, Emperor Wu of Sui and the other characters, you can sort of guess what is going to happen. Choosing whether to read one of the side stories can change the ending of the story quite drastically.
